Production Update: Section 1 Complete

Quick update to note that the first section, "How to Quad", is complete.  Baked into this section rich with tables and reference, you'll find the coalesced wisdom of IGS' approach to creating diverse content across a wide range of difficulty, and the secrets to generating adventure content that can be played at any PC level.

Section 2 in Progress

This is why most of you probably pledged: "How to Convert" details how to take a piece of P1E content, and adapt it to use in 5E, P2E, and OSR.  It's about halfway complete; I hope to finish this at least by the end of the month.

Remaining Content

Section 3 is the "Conversion Mapping Inventory".  This is already written, actually, as a side effect of producing Aquilae: Bestiary of the Realm; I merely need to copy/paste and figure out the most elegant way to present thousands of things in tables in a way that isn't painful to digest.  That should take a few days to lay out.

Section 4 is "Creating New Quadded Monsters".  This will actually be a very short section, which I may end up simply rolling into Section 1, since I kind of ballooned it to include a lot of what I wanted to say about this subject separately.  

And then finally, the Appendix will be "Sample Converted Monsters", which will contain a bunch of common fantasy critters, each presented in all of the 4 supported rules systems.  This makes an easy reference point for seeing the result of converting content from system to system.  As all of these are already finished and included in Aquilae: Bestiary of the Realm, this should take a day, tops.

Conclusion & Timing

So, it's taken a while, but the real work has been in progress and completed for years, now: I'm merely documenting an approach I've used several THOUSAND times already.  

I will definitely be finished by the end of September, and it will hopefully be early September.

I'll open it up: what monsters do you want to see represented in the Sample Conversions section?

I'm not sure how many I'll end up including, but probably 6-20 is likely, at least one for each major creature type for example.

Check out this update post for the complete list of 1,600 monsters that are available to include taken from Aquilae: Bestiary of the Realm.

Hi all!  Hope you're enjoying your summer.  A quick update that my day job has been pretty intense the last few weeks, so I've not achieved what I had hoped to in terms of RPG writing.

I'm hoping to finish the Conversion Guide in the next month or so.  Stay tuned for more updates, and thanks for your patience!

Production Update

The journey of two and a half years is finally coming to an end.  That is, the largest piece of that journey.

Aquilae: Bestiary of the Realm, Volume 6, for 5E and P2E, is now completed and published.

All associated Bookshelf entries for 5E and P2E and the Multisystem Bookshelf have all been updated, and digital fulfillment has been triggered for all Kickstarter backers who are entitled to one or both of these.

If you are entitled to one or both editions, and have not received a notification from DriveThruRPG in the next few hours, please comment below, message me, email me, or otherwise let me know, and I will investigate and resolve.

Next Steps

Still to complete and related to this project are the Master Index, Monsters of Aquilae, Incarnae of Aquilae, the FlexAI Guidebook, and the Monster & Content Conversion Guide, but those can now be full-focus following the completion of Volume 6.  I anticipate completing all of those over the summer, and will advise as I begin to churn through their layouts.

Over the next few days, I'll be finishing the Abridged compilations of the Bestiary for 5E and P2E, publishing them, fulfilling for those entitled to them, and including them in the Bookshelf entries.  At that time, I'll be able to publish Bundles for those who already have a subset, but not all, of the Volumes.

Thank you again for your patience, as this has been a very long road indeed to get to this point.  I lost about a year because I could not find a way to automate the layout as I had intended, and lost about two months earlier this year to the COVID-19 quarantine and shutdown, but it's a tremendous achievement to sit here with Volume 6 complete.

This would not have been possible without your support, confidence, and patience, and I thank you for all of that.

Eager for more work and to continue to churn out immense amounts of content.  :)
